Setting Up Your Personal Email Account To Download YuhKnow email
Q. How do I set up my Outlook Express, so I can download my YuhKnow email to my computer?
Start Outlook Express.
On the Tools menu, click Accounts.
In the Internet Accounts dialog box, click Add, and then click Mail.
In the Display Name box, type your name and then click Next.
In the E-mail Address box, type the e-mail address for the account (example, "janedoe@yuhknow.com")
Click Next.
Under E-mail Server Names, click the appropriate incoming e-mail server type ([POP3] is the default type),
Then type the names of Yuhknow incoming email server (pop.yuhknow.com if you have a yuhknow.com email address OR use pop.yuhknow.com if you have a yuhknow.com email address)
Then your OWN SMTP outgoing e-mail server (the SMTP is for your ISP email server not yuhknow).
Click Next.
Type your POP account name and password in the POP Account Name and Password boxes, (your pop account name is the first part of your email address (janedoe for janedoe@yuhknow.com) Click Next
In the Internet Mail Account Name box; type a name to identify the mail account that you are configuring. Click Next.
Click the connection type that you use to connect to the Internet, and then click Next.
NOTE: This step does not apply to Outlook Express 5.
If you click Use my phone line to connect, you are prompted to either create a new Dial-Up Networking connection or use an existing one. If Dial-Up Networking has been configured for your ISP, click Use an existing dial-up connection, click the name for your Dial-Up Networking connection in the list, and then click Next.
If you click Connect using my local area network (LAN) or I will establish my Internet connection manually, you are not prompted for any additional settings.
Click Finish.
Q. How do I set up my Netscape Communicator 4.5 so I can download my YuhKnow email to my computer?
1. Start up Netscape Communicator 4.5.
2. Click on "Edit" and then "Preferences" and you will see a preferences screen come up.
3. Now, double-click on "Mail and Newsgroups" and a menu will drop down. Now you will want to click on the first option, "Identity". You will see a screen like the one shown below. Fill out your name and email address accordingly. Those are the only two fields "required" by Netscape. The others are optional.
4. Next, click on "Mail Servers".
5. On the right side, it will say "Incoming Mail Servers". There may already be a mail server there, if there is, choose to EDIT that entry by clicking on the EDIT button. If there are no mail servers, then click on the ADD button. When you click on EDIT or ADD, a smaller box will appear.
Server Name: pop.yuhknow.com if you are a yuhknow.com email account
Or pop.yuhknow.com if you have a yuhknow.com email address
Server Type: POP3
User Name: (your email name without the trailing @yuhknow.com)
Password: Your password for YuhKnow email account
Press OK, and you will come back to the Mail Servers box.
Make sure you have specified the SMTP server: Your ISP SMTP outgoing server
You do not need to specify an "Outgoing Mail Server Username"
. Press OK. You can begin using your email by starting Netscape Communicator and choosing
"Messenger" from the "Communicator" menu on the toolbar.
Q. How do I set up my Eudora so I can download my YuhKnow email to my computer?
Within Eudora, Select "Tools" and then Select "Options."
Within the Tool Bar on the left side of the box, select "Getting Started"
Enter your POP Account Information (e.g., username@yuhknow.com)
(the following two steps are optional)
Enter your Real Name (e.g., John Doe)
Enter your Return Address (e.g., username@yuhknow.com)
After completing the first section, select "Hosts" within the Tool Bar.
Verify that the POP Account information is correct. (pop.yuhknow.com or pop.yuhknow.com)
Enter YOUR Internet Service Provider's SMTP Mail Server information.
Example: mailhost.your_isp.com
(mailhost.your_isp.com is the SMTP Mail Server for that Internet Service Provider)
Then click OK
